When posting my previous post, I never thought that I will be writing another post so soon. But on seeing the prize, I couldn’t keep myself from entering Thor Schrock’s Secret Classroom Blog Contest. The prizes are

What is Secret Classroom?

Secret Classroom is an internet marketing course in a set of 12 DVDs featuring all the 12 episodes of reality show, The Next Internet Millionaire, with 2 hour sessions on internet marketing by experts like Jeff Walker, Rich Schefren, Ray Edwards, Mark Joyner etc. These experts teaches a handful of aspiring entrepreneurs, the secrets of successful internet marketing, as if in a classroom. This much awaited course was released on December 5th and became an instant hit among internet marketers, both amateurs and professionals. The Secret Classroom is not a get rich quick gimmick. It is an education that will improve your income and your internet marketing business for the rest of your life.

I would have really loved to have a copy of the secret classroom. Unfortunately, the prize of the set is unaffordable for me right now. But I will surely get a copy when I can afford one. Have any of you bought a copy? If so, can you please tell your opinion on this internet marketing course?

A few days back I blogged on how to earn some easy bucks using your blog by participating in blog contests. Now many of the new and established blogs are holding contests to increase their popularity or to celebrate a special occassion to them. But it is not an easy task to find out the best competitions for joining. Now there are a number of blogs that are dedicated to contest that helps blogs conducting the contests to find participants and vice versa. Here are some of the contest blogs that I frequently visit.

  This is my favorite contest blog, which I visit very frequently. Contest Blogger specializes in blog contests only. Contest Blogger was the first blog that started participating in contests while blogging about them. What makes Contest Blogger special is the Contest Blogger Oath according to which any prize won by the Contest Blogger will be given away to its readers by holding another contest. Initially Contest Blogger used to post about all blog contests, but now only featured contest will appear on the blog. There is a integrated forum for other contests. If you need some publicity, you can also sponsor a contest.

• The Prize Blog

  This was the first contest site that I visited and which tempted me to join different blog contests. Unlike Contest Blogger, The Prize Blog deals with all contests, not just contests hosted by blogs. If you are hosting a contest on your blog, you can have a basic listing for free or a featured listing for $20.

• My Blog Contest

  My Blog Contest is another blog that allows both free and featured listing for your contests. For free listing, you will have to write up the post. The price for featured listing is not specified on the contact page.

• My Blog Contests

  My Blog Contests is another cool blog on blog contests. Last day a  My Blog Contests toolbar was released which allows you to access all the My Blog Contests resources directly from the toolbar. Listing your contest on My Blog Contests is free.

• Contest Beat

  Contest Beat is a highly updated blog dealing on blog contests. A featured sitewide listing of your contest on Contest Beat costs your $25. You can also have a free listing of your contest for free. If you are looking for sponsors for your contest or want to sponsor a contest, then there is a section for that too.

• RevieWOW

  This is another contest blog that I occassionally visit.

After starting this blog, I have read a lot on how to promote your blog and how to increase your traffic. One of the most important tip I have seen on several places was to use a unique and eye catchy design for your blog. I think a unique logo is as important as a unique design. Unfortunately, a unique design and a unique logo can cost you a couple of hundred bucks. Hence I have started working on creating a new theme for this blog. But logo designing is something that is out of my reach.

But today, while visiting The Prize Blog, I got extremely happy to know that they are hosting a “Win a Logo” competition on their site. The Prize Blog, started in December 2006, is one of the top contest related blog in the blogosphere. The winner of the “Win a Logo” contest will receive a custom logo design for their blog from SOS Factory. If you are not lucky enough to win the custom logo, there is another prize of $20 for one runner-up.

The best thing about the contest is that entering the contest is really simple. Just mention the contest on your blog and link to contest page and The Prize Blog homepage. Though I haven’t confirmed this with them, mentioning about the contest below one of your regular post seems to be enough to enter the contest.

I have a happy news to share today. You might be remembering my third post last month on “How to win and spend $500” over at JohnCowdotCom.  I was talking over the phone today when my mail client reported a new mail. It was a report from my blog reporting a new pingback from JohnCowdotCom with the title “Announcing 8 (!) Winners“. I checked the post and I became dumbstruck for a few minutes and couldn’t believe that I have actually won the $500.

There are some changes on how I am going to spend the money (I hope Bob wouldn’t mind it ). I have already given the order for my new MacBook. Also I have decided not to change my web host, but go for the next higher plan with my current host.

BTW, there is another good news for all the WordPress users. I am developing a new plugin for making your WordPress blogs mobile friendly. I know there are some other similar plugins available, but I am trying to make the plugin a lot more customizable and search engine friendly. I am presently having some problem with URL rewriting. Once I sort it out, the plugin will be released without much delay.

I started blogging because I wanted to make money online. But once I started blogging, I understood that making money online is not that easy. Wait a minute, did I say that online money making isn’t easy? Sorry, my mistake. If you are lucky, then earning 500 bucks is very simple. Yes, you read it right. JohnCow is giving away $500 in a contest sponsored by their web hosting provider, Micfo. Entering the contest is extremely simple. You have to post on your blog, how you would have spend the money, if it was awarded to you. The rules for joining the contest can be found in the post announcing the $500 contest at JohnCow.Com. I too decided to give the contest a shot. So, if I win the 500 bucks, this is how I would divide and spend it.

• I have plans for two new sites, which requires a large amount of bandwidth. I have found a hosting plan which suits my needs. The new hosting costs me $10 / month or $100 annually. Hence, first of all, I would subscribe for the annual payment plan so that I can save another $20 ( Mr. Cow, you have earned me a total of $520). The new sites will increase my revenue further.
• I am planning to buy a Mac Book by mid October. I will spend an extra $200 and get the 13″ Black one instead of the 13″ White Mac Book (Still I don’t have enough money for a MacBook Pro ).
• If I get an interesting and creative idea, then I will run a contest here. Since I am not very rich or lucky as JohnCow, to get a sponsor like Micfo, the price money will be limited to $50 (or $100 in multiple competitions). The contests will bring more visitors to my blog and thus further increase my revenue .
• Finally, I will cash 100 bucks (which is about INR 4000/-) and buy myself a nice outfit and celebrate with my family(Afterall, it is free money hence I can be a little lavish ).
• OMG, I still have $50 in my account. Well, the balance amount can stay in my Paypal account for any unforeseen needs that may arise. (Wow! $500 is quite a large amount and it took me one hour to decide and post how to spend it).

   Oh No! It was just a dream? I haven’t won the money ?
